Filming shut down last Friday, it seems, on the set of Rob Schmidt's latest horror film Bad Meat. According to numerous sources reporting into Deadline Hollywood, financier Capitol Films has been facing serious hardships that are reverberating through many of their productions.

Meat, budgeted in the range of $5 - 7 million, ceased shooting because the money reportedly dried up and due to "non-payment of actor salaries." Problems began when shooting was delayed by ten days, however, when principal photography ceased last week, actors and various crews members began to head home. The film was two weeks out from completion.

There is a new trailer for "Keith" available to watch at YouTube and I must say that it looks very promising! I've wanted to see this movie for so long, let's hope they finally find a distributor! Appearantly the US premiere already took place on April 11 at the Palm Beach International Film Festival - did anyone go or knows more about this? If you do, please contact me! Thanks!

"It's a full-on splatter movie and there's a lot of fluid flying around, not all of it blood I have to tell you," producer Mat Chaplin says of his latest endeavor, Bad Meat, the gross-out horror flick directed by Rob Schmidt. "[It's] an awesome mix of bloody carnage and smart comedy with some deviant sex thrown in."

Principal photography has begun in Manitoba, Canada.

Schmidt - who has previously helmed Wrong Turn, The Alphabet Killer and Masters of Horror: Right to Die - is working from a script by Paul Gerstenberger. Elisabeth Harnois (Solstice), Mark Pellegrino (Dexter, pictured), Dave Franco (Superbad) and Tahj Mowry (Kim Possible) is the first batch of confirmed actors to have joined the cast.

Here's the meat of Meat: A group of so-called "problem teens" are sent by their parents to a repressive Boot Camp in the middle of nowhere, in the hope that the strict regime will transform them into youthful model citizens that their parents can be proud of. We finally have new information on Elisabeth's long-awaited movie "Chaos Theory"! The Marcos Siega-directed film's official site features the trailer (unfortunately no sign of our girl here) and the poster. According to IESB the release date will be March 14, 2008.
